Born and raised on the sandy beaches of New Jersey’s Ocean County, Micayla Shea is a start-to-finish surfboard shaper and the founder of Angry Thumb Designs. At just 10 years old she shaped her first 4’10” Steve Lis-inspired fish. Today, this young artist is believed to be the youngest surfboard shaper in the United States, living her mission every day: #SHAPINGTHEFUTURE with faith, heart, and deep Jersey roots.
